iPhone Fun + Blackberry Business = Palm Pre?

I work with BlackBerrys all the time and although they’re a VERY nice business solution they just don’t have the fun factor of the iPhone.  However, there is one serious limitation that keeps holding me back and that is the fact that I can use only one MS Exchange account *sigh*.  I love my iPhone but I rely on multiple Exchange accounts to manage communication with different clients.  Yes, I know I can still use POP/IMAP (I’m using IMAP now) but I really just want multiple Exchange accounts to be able to push to my iPhone! Is that too much to ask? Apparently…  I drove to the Sprint store at lunch yesterday and checked out the Palm Pre.  At first glance it looks very… round.  In fact, it’s not near as sleek looking as the iPhone.  The construction is about what I expected, not as solid feeling as the iPhone but not as unrefined and cheap feeling as the G1 (Sorry @MommyGeekology, you know I still love the G1 though!).  I was mostly impressed with WebOS though.  I was able to get acclimated rather quickly and was flying through the interface in no time.  Apps load about the same to a little slower than on my iPhone 3G but the ability to keep multiple open and flip between them is a HUGE advantage in my book.  Apps are currently very limited but that’ll probably change with time.  All in all I think I might have found my BlackBerry/iPhone compromise.  I’m very interested in hearing what YOU think, especially if you’re using the Pre as a business phone.

  1. Well you know how I feel about it. Love my G1, but I do a good mix of business and personal on that phone, so it works well for me. Reviews of the Pre look good, but I’m curious about battery life!

The Pre does look interesting, but I’m not sure if it’d be worth making the switch of networks for.

  3. @Badass Geek has a point – the network switch is a big deal. Stupid contracts.
